Day 1: Settle into Tokyo
Settle into Tokyo
Stay in Asakusa or Ryogoku, close to the next two mornings. Walk along the Sumida River if you have the energy, eat early and leave the evening free.
Day 2: Sumo practice in Ryogoku
Sumo stable morning practice with a local guide
Watch morning practice with a local guide who explains the rituals as they happen. Keep the afternoon open for a neighborhood walk or a rest.
Day 3: Asakusa, matcha and lunch
Old Tokyo Asakusa Walk with Matcha and Monjayaki
Walk the lanes around Sensoji with a neighborhood guide, whisk your own matcha and cook monjayaki or okonomiyaki for lunch. The rest of the day is yours.
